What’s Included in a Physiotherapy Assessment & Treatment

Your session includes a comprehensive assessment to fully understand your animal’s needs before treatment begins:

  • Dynamic Assessment – observing movement to identify gait abnormalities, asymmetry, or lameness.
  • Static Assessment – evaluating posture, conformation, and muscle balance while the animal is standing.
  • Joint Assessment – checking range of motion, flexibility, and joint health.
  • Musculoskeletal Assessment – palpating muscles, tendons, and ligaments to identify areas of tension, pain, or weakness.

Once the assessment is completed, treatment  takes place which may include:

  • Manual therapies (massage, stretching, mobilisation)
  • Electrotherapies (PEMF, TENS, NMES,  LASER)
  • Corrective exercises and aftercare advice

This ensures every treatment is individualised for your animal’s performance, comfort, and recovery.

Your dog’s first physiotherapy session is assessment and treatment. This allows me to thoroughly evaluate their condition before creating a tailored rehabilitation plan.

  • Static Assessment – evaluating posture, stance, and weight distribution while your dog is standing.
  • Joint Assessment – checking range of motion, flexibility, and signs of stiffness or pain.
  • Musculoskeletal Assessment – palpating muscles, tendons, and ligaments to identify areas of tension, weakness, or injury risk.
  • and a mini tretament session

  • Manual therapies (massage, stretching, joint mobilisation)
  • Electrotherapies including NMES, TENS, and (coming soon) Laser Therapy
